I was first let into the secret of mohair many years back when 6 little pedigree Angora goats jumped into my life.
They were shipped from Texas, by a Scottish farmer, hoping to diversify, but the goats, used to the high,
dry plateaux of the southern USA, found the wet lowlands of western Scotland not to their taste.
And so, to my farm a cute young buck, and five flighty females found their way. Since then, they have put down roots and reared a
big family!...
The kids have been a knockout. Little bundles of silky curls, they have grown into gentle, inquisitive creatures.
Naturally naughty, they roam my farm with a regime of twice yearly clips, regular pedicures, and much love and attention.
